Holi Care

Holi festival of colours and joy excites us , the only thing that always does concern us is  our hair and skin . We @ mudd have a few pre and post Holi hair care tips to ensure you enjoy yourself without any worries.

Oil it all your skin and hair

Massage your scalp thoroughly with coconut oil at least an hour before you get into the Holi celebrations. Ideally we’d suggest you do it the night before, but if that isn’t possible then give the hair oil an hour to set into your scalp.hair and skin

Cover it from top to bottom

Use a cap or bandana to cover your scalp, for some added protection. Your scalp is more prone to getting itchy and irritated when it comes in contact with the colour. make sure you are wearing full length sleeves tops and a long bottoms, keep them as covered as possible !

Tie it up.. make sure your hair is all up and in place

Make a bun, side braid, French braid, or a simple ponytail, but make sure your hair is tied up. Hair that is let down will absorb more colour than tied up hair.

Rinse without shampoo

Once you get into the shower after the festivities, we know your first instinct would be to get in there with the shampoo, but that will be counter-productive. Rinse out all the colour from of your hair with plain water, continue until the water in your shower runs clear and then do your shampoo and conditioner routine.wear a thick conditioning mask to nourish the hair after it has been though the trauma of colour and water and what ever else could have been played with during your holi party
Keep oiling your hair and give it some extra TLC at least for a couple of weeks after Holi ends to ensure your hair remains as lustrous as ever.
